Event Info
In August 1970, Ginza-dori was the first street in Japan to be turned into a vehicle-free promenade. To commemorate that vehicle-free promenade and have visitors to enjoy a day of summer fun in Ginza, the Yukata de Gin-bura (“Gin-bura” means strolling through Ginza) Festival began 9 years ago as part of “Holiday Promenade” project.
Yukata de Gin-bura Festival 2016 is a project that adds special features to Ginza-dori.
On July 31, Ginza-dori will be vehicle free and filled with people dressed in yukata. All types of “cooling off” events that showcase Japanese hospitality will be held for people visiting midsummer Ginza wearing yukatas and other Japanese clothing.
