On the day of the Tokyo Marathon, special traffic regulations will be enforced in Ginza. We apologize for the inconvenience to those accessing the area by vehicle and to all pedestrians through the area, and greatly appreciate your cooperation.

Ginza Traffic Regulations

Traffic regulations will be enforced for about 5 hours and 40 minutes, from about 9:35 AM to 3:15 PM. (For reference only; actual times are subject to change.)
*Please note that while traffic regulations will be in effect, passage on sidewalks along the course will be possible, but crossing will not be allowed in principle.
<<The pedestrian paradise (vehicle-free promenade) will not be held on Ginza-dori St. on the day of the marathon.>>

[For vehicles]
On the day of the marathon, special traffic regulations will be enforced in the entire Tokyo area. As a result, it is expected to be very difficult for vehicles to enter the Ginza district. The same applies to delivery vehicles.

[For pedestrians and wheelchair users]
(Applicable to Harumi-dori St. & Ginza-dori St.)
・Crossing as usual will be possible until around 9:35 AM. Bicycles are not allowed to cross the course during the marathon, so please refrain from coming to the area by bicycle. Your cooperation and understanding is greatly appreciated.
・Crossing the street above ground on Harumi-dori Street from the direction of Hibiya to Ginza-dori Street, and on Ginza-dori Street from 1-chome to 4chome, will not be permitted from around 10:09 AM, when the first wheelchair racer is expected to arrive, until around 3:00 PM, when the traffic regulations are scheduled to be lifted. Crossing will only be possible via the underground passages in Tokyo Metro Ginza, Higashi-Ginza, Ginza 1-chome, and Hibiya stations. Please note that some entrances and exits are closed due to construction work.

(Harumi-dori St.)
・To cross Harumi-dori Street between 4-chome and 5-chome, only the underground passageway is available until around 3:00 PM when the traffic regulations are scheduled to be lifted.

There are 6 elevators in the area as listed below.
4-chome
・Exit B8: 4-chome, Mizuho Bank Ginza Branch ATM area
・Exit B2: Next to Gucci Ginza Store
・Exit A7: Next to Mitsukoshi front entrance
5-chome
・Elevator in park: 5-chome, in Sukiyabashi Park
・Exit B7: Near Hermes
・Exit B3: Fujikoshi Bldg. (Entry from West 5th Street. The building with Armani in it.)

(From Ginza-dori St. and JR Yurakucho Station)
・For street-level crossing over Ginza-dori Street in the vicinity of the Ginza-dori/Matsuya-dori intersection in Ginza 3-chome, periodic crossing through temporary crossing zones will be available from around noon to 3:00 PM, when the traffic regulations are scheduled to be lifted.
・To cross in the Ginza-dori Street 1-, 2-, and 3-chome vicinity and in the direction of JR Yurakucho Station, please use the underground passage at Ginza 1-chome Station on the Yurakucho Line. Wheelchair users will not be able to cross between Ginza-dori Street 1- to 4-chome until around noon, but will be able to cross near the Ginza-dori/Matsuya-dori intersection in Ginza 3-chome starting at around noon.

[Bicycle crossing]
Bicycles will not be permitted to cross Ginza-dori or Harumi-dori during the marathon.
Please also refrain from cycling or pushing a bicycle through the sidewalks of these streets during the marathon as sidewalks will be very crowded.

Emergency Assistance

[Emergencies & first-aid]
If there is an emergency, please call 119.
The department stores in Ginza have also been requested to provide emergency assistance, so you can ask there for help.

[Restrooms]
Please use the public restrooms next to the Ginza 1-chome police box (koban) and in 5-chome at Sukiyabashi Park, and the restrooms in train and subway stations.
If the situation is urgent, please request assistance at a large commercial facility such as a department store or other shops along the route.
