In this edition we welcome Mr. Keiji Shinmoto, President & CEO of Tenshodo Co., Ltd., which carries a broad range of merchandise, from luxury brand watches to miniature railways. “You may think that Ginza is for adults, but it actually has some stores that you can shop in comfort with your children. I will show you some perfect family spots in Ginza,” says Shinmoto-san, who is expecting to become a father of two children soon. This edition will introduce three destinations that offer dining and shopping experiences unique to Ginza.
For moms who have a difficult time finding restaurants that they can take their children to, Shinmoto-san recommends the Fujiya Restaurant Sukiyabashi. It is on the second floor of a building standing on the Sukiyabashi Intersection, a prime location in Ginza. “It is easily accessed and the great thing is that you can take your baby stroller in.” They also offer a Birthday Service, where those celebrating their birthday can receive birthday gifts, including a dessert and a birthday photo. Baby food is available for children under one year of age free of charge. Moms will enjoy the special offers they have for them.
During lunchtime, Fujiya Restaurant serves “Peko-chan’s Spaghetti Meatballs” (580 yen, incl. tax) (photo), as well as other children’s favorites, including curry and hamburger steaks. Cutely arranged on a plate with pictures of Peko-chan and Poko-chan, children are encouraged to finish their meal. Children will also receive a box of Milky, adding to the excitement. The “Peko-chan Milky Parfait” (430 yen, incl. tax) is the perfect dessert, served in a mini size just right for enjoying after a meal.
“Ladies’ Plate A” (1,590 yen, incl. tax) lets moms indulge in the authentic taste of four different dishes served in small portions arranged on one plate: Spaghetti Bolognese with truffle-flavored olive oil, macaroni gratin with prawns and chicken in an irresistible creamy Bechamel sauce, tossed salad with four types of grains and walnuts, and a mini cup of yogurt accompanied by colorful fruits.
For dessert, enjoy the classic “Italian Short Cake” (590 yen / 1,030 yen with drinks, incl. tax). Made with a luxurious amount of strawberries and whipped cream on cake sponge soaked in syrup, the cake has a divinely rich sweetness. The dome-like shape also gives it a cute touch.
After enjoying your lunch, don’t forget to purchase some sweets to take home at the shop on the first floor. The “Milky Cream Nama-dorayaki” (280 yen, incl. tax) sold exclusively at the Sukiyabashi Store is a rich dorayaki with “Milky” cream and adzuki bean paste sandwiched between soft and fluffy pancakes.
A long-established restaurant with three generations of fans, the Fujiya Restaurant is spacious and ideal for lunch with friends and children’s birthday parties. It is certainly an address to remember in Ginza.

”There is a spot where both children and adults can play together.” Shinmoto-san took us to “Hakuhinkan TOY PARK Ginza Main Store.” The only store specializing in toys, Hakuhinkan carries approximately 200,000 items from the basement floor to the fourth floor.
A car fan, Shinmoto-san strongly recommends stopping by the Hakuhinkan RACING PARK. It is a circuit racing game in which the player drives a slot car, or the original model of four-wheel drives. Shinmoto-san says that he can return to being a child again when he is playing it. The game can be enjoyed by beginners, as all you have to do is hold the controller.
You can play for five minutes for 200 yen. The devices are rented out for free. They also have easier model designed for children, so you can share the fun with your children. Surely, children will love playing games that cannot be played at home. Of course, it can be addictive for adults, too.
Shinmoto-san found a “Famicom” from his childhood. They have been redesigned in a more compact palm-size, and are loaded with thirty Famicom games. “This is the first game I ever bought. It brings back memories,” Shinmoto-san said, unable to resist playing one game. Hakuhinkan is a spot that reminds adults of the excitement they felt as children.
The third floor carries character products and toys for small children. Shinmoto-san discovered Anpanman products, which his daughter adores. The store is a wonderful place to select gifts for your children.
Moms can come up to the fourth floor to the baby room in the back of the elevator hall for breastfeeding and changing diapers. Families with children can shop in comfort at Hakuhinkan. Take your family to the spot in Ginza that will make everyone in the family smile.

”GINZA Isamiya,” established in 1922 (Taisho 11) specializes in baby and children cloths. The store is very proud of its location, facing Chuo-dori and only a short walk from the A8 exit of Ginza Station. The open and spacious store welcomes strollers and is friendly to moms with children.
GINZA Isamiya carries twenty to thirty brands ranging from simple to cute clothing, including affordable everyday clothing, as well as those that can be given as gifts. The corners of all store fixtures have been rounded out so that moms with children can shop with reassurance. Shinmoto-san also bought some clothes for his daughter’s♪
On the first floor, they sell clothes for newborns to toddlers, and on the basement floor, clothes for elementary school students; and therefore, GINZA Isamiya is a one-stop store to look for children’s clothes. When you go shopping there, be sure to see the picture drawn by children on the ceiling of the basement floor.
Ginza Isamiya also has a Kids’ Corner where children can take off their shoes to play. The playing area is very popular among children and allowa moms to take their time to shop. The “Customer First” approach taken by the store is a feature of Ginza quality.
The Kid’s Corner has a children-friendly cork floor. GINZA Isamiya makes it a rule to keep warm wooden toys that fulfill children’s curiosity. The picture books and toys are renewed every four months and the store staff sterilize and clean the area and the toys in it every day, so it is a safe environment for children.
