I) Stage: |
Stage: The festival is a valuable opportunity to experience geisha dance on the grand Enbujo Theater stage in even more radiance. The Shimbashi geisha arts follow three schools—the Hanayagi school, Nishikawa school, and Onoe school. Each year, the entire performance is led by a single school. This year, Headmaster Juou of the Hanayagi school will lead the stage. |
II) Cuisine: |
Cuisine: Shimbashi ryotei restaurants (Shinkiraku, Kanetanaka, Tokyo Kitcho, Matsuyama, Yonemura, and Wanofu) join forces to put on a taste performance at the Azuma Odori Dance Festival. You can enjoy competing shokado bento (boxed meal) in a ceramic box made by each restaurant based on a menu from Tokyo Kitcho as well as a convenient ryotei sushi bento in a wooden box at your seat. (*Advance reservation required.) |
III) Intermission: |
Intermission: The second floor lobby will be set up as a Japanese lounge with tea ceremony by geisha and a Dom Perignon booth on either end and ryotei refreshments, recommended Japanese sake, and Azuma Odori limited-edition products on sale in the middle. |
